How To Prepare For ADI Part One Theory – Guidance For Arabic Candidates

I ended up forking out £600 to prepare with a well known company simply to have the privilege of studying with them for the theory exam. Basically these folks deliver you a enormous bundle of publications and a study guide. You also have access to an approved driving teacher (ADI) should you demand one to one tuition. For me this was a full waste of income as the publications they despatched are easily obtainable in shops for a fraction of the cost and I barely required one hour’s tuitionwith my dedicated teacher.

My advice is to go out and buy your own publications either from the retailers or better still from eBay. You can get considerably better quality publications and study guides for very sensible prices. The ADI Part 1 Theory test is quite straight forward, you either prepare well and pass OR you don’t try studying and fail.

Approximately 50 percent of the candidates taking part 1 will fail on their initial attempt. I think that is inexcusable, as the publications generally give you each question on the database. Even if you have no prepratory skills at all, absolutely you are capable of memorising the questions and answers. I wouldn’t advise this proceedure but it positively ensures that you will know the answers on the day of your examination. I took about 3 months getting ready for part 1. I probably could have accomplished it in 1 month or two but I was tense and didn’t want to slip at the first hurdle. On the day of my examination I got 100% on my theory and 67 out of 75 on the hazard perception aspect. Make sure you take the time to sit down and learn the theory test questions and answers. Additionally practice your hazard perception ability by getting a DVD as I am advised that more applicants fail the ADI part 1 because of the hazard perception aspect then the theory component. If your struggling with hazard perception, obviously you don’t realize how the exam is assessed and how to receive the best score. This is all in the knowledge of the phrase “scoring window”. Explaining the workings of the hazard perception test is not within the scope of this article.
